Sacramento Police Department Fundraiser: Purchase a Thin Blue Line Flag
SACRAMENTO POLICE
FOUNDATION
2025 Bridge Investment Prospectus
Current Potential:
1. Community engagement: The Foundation supports department-wide community- building events, public
safety outreach, and initiatives that foster transparency and trust between officers and the
neighborhoods they serve.
2. Workforce pipeline and youth leadership: Investments in the Criminal Justice Magnet Academy,
recruiting spaces, and mentorship initiatives are preparing the next generation of civic leaders
and law enforcement professionals.
3. Public safety technology and training: With strategic plans ready, SPD can immediately enhance
operations through technology upgrades and specialized training in evidence- based policing.
4. Officer wellness and professional development: Programs like trauma-informed training, peer
support, physical therapy access, and leadership development help sustain officer well-being and
organizational resilience.
Primary Constraints:
1. Lack of flexible funding: Many priority initiatives-from software to leadership training- are
outside the city's shrinking public safety budget and await philanthropic or private support.
2. Decreased staffing: The Department continues to operate with fewer officers and support staff,
straining resources and limiting its ability to resume or scale effective programs. Targeted
investments can create efficiencies through improved tools, technology, and personnel development.
Vision:
To lead Sacramento into a new era of public safety - one defined by smart technology,
trauma-informed leadership, youth engagement, and strong community trust - while creating a more
resilient, efficient, and empowered police force.
Return on Investment:
1. Community safety: Reduce crime and improve response through technology, real- time data tools,
and evidence-based officer training.
2. Organizational efficiency: Stretch limited staffing capacity through modern systems,
leadership training, and proactive employee wellness.
3. Youth development: Expand the Department's reach into schools and
neighborhoods to prepare and inspire young leaders.
4. Public trust: Build durable relationships through visible investments in community policing
and officer accountability.
